Viv Greene

Viv grew up in St Annes-on-Sea in Lancashire, England, and began her career working for a life insurance company after leaving school at 16. A personal dispute with an insurer following a car accident sparked her interest in law.

After moving to South Africa with her husband in 1996, Viv pursued her legal studies, completing a Bachelor of Social Science majoring in Law and Psychology, followed by an LLB, at the University of KwaZulu-Natal.

After completing her articles, Viv was admitted as an Attorney and Notary Public in 2004 and a Mediator in 2021. She has a strong background in civil litigation and regularly appears in the High Court.

Outside of work, Viv enjoys live music, theatre, reading, travel, and staying active through walking, CrossFit, and yoga. She is a mother of two and values both the rewards and challenges of parenthood.

Razina Gangat

Attorney
BCom, LLB, LLM (UKZN)

Razina is a legal practitioner who deals with Magistrates’ Court & High Court Litigation and Contracts. She holds a BCom, an LLB and an LLM in Maritime Law from the University of Kwazulu-Natal. During her time at UKZN, she received the Dean’s Commendation and served as the President of the Golden Key International Honour Society, UKZN Chapter.

She also recently qualified as a Mediator.

Razina enjoys mountain-biking and is obsessed with Jungle Oats Peanut Butter Bars.

Thembelihle Chantal Mthiyane

BA, LLB (Rhodes University)

Thembelihle Chantal Mthiyane is a legal practitioner who deals with Magistrate Court and High Court Litigation. She holds both a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and Legal Theory and an LLB Degree from Rhodes University.

She qualified as a Mediator in 2025.

Her interests outside of the legal profession include reading, binge watching comedy specials, vlogs, series online and doing fun activities with family and friends.

Omeshni Pillay

Omeshni Pillay is a legal practitioner dealing in Magistrates’ Court litigation. She holds a Bachelor of Social Science degree, with majors in Criminology and Psychology, and Bachelor of Laws which she completed at the University of KwaZulu-Natal.

Prior to her admission as a legal practitioner of the High Court in March 2024, Omeshni gained valuable practical experience through practical vocational training at a well-established law firm in Pietermaritzburg.
Outside of her professional practice, Omeshni enjoys baking, swimming, and fishing.

Chris is hidden in a back office. His mission is to gently encourage everyone at Viv Greene Attorneys to perform beyond their abilities so as to provide you with outstanding service. Should we fail, Chris takes the blame and works hard to resolve the issue.

As the token male, he is rarely allowed to meet you but will always be available by phone etc to assist you.

Mercedes Brauns


Candidate Legal Practioner

Mercedes is a Candidate Attorney who began her legal career as a Legal Secretary while studying law.

After completing her LLB degree at the University of South Africa, she commenced her articles in August 2025.

Her experience in legal support roles during her studies provided her with valuable practical exposure and a solid understanding of legal procedures and law firm operations.

Having gained hands-on experience across various law firms, Mercedes brings practical knowledge and a strong work ethic to her role.

Outside of work, she enjoys watching thriller films, shopping, and restoring old furniture to give it new life.

Komeshnie Naidoo

Candidate Legal Practitioner

Komeshnie is a Candidate Attorney holding a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. During her studies, she was recognized for academic excellence with the Dean’s Commendation and was inducted into the Golden Key International Honour Society (UKZN Chapter). By day, she enjoys tackling complex legal challenges, and by night, she can often be found immersed in a mystery novel or tearing up at a comedy special, because she believes that both a clever plot twist and the perfect punchline are worth appreciating.

Tyra Louwrens

Candidate Legal Practitioner

Tyra Louwrens is a candidate legal practitioner who holds both a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Law and an LLB Degree from the University of Pretoria. Outside of work, Tyra enjoys watching crime and drama shows, cooking, reading, and spending time on both the golf course and padel court.

Anasia Hoosen

Anasia has over 18 years of experience as a legal secretary and worked for several prominent law firms in Pietermaritzburg, as well as working at a law firm at Umhlanga before joining Viv Greene Attorneys at the beginning of 2018.

She has experience in High, Regional, and Magistrates Court litigation. She has completed the following courses by L.E.A.D.S and obtained Certificates for Administration & Client Care, Accounting & Book-keeping, and Client Care & Marketing. Her marketing skills have allowed her to grow further and explore various marketing tools.

Anasia has a friendly personality, has 2 children, and loves her work, cooking, and spending quality time with her family.

Deseray Sivalingum

Deseray has been working in the legal industry from 2001. She has experience in high court and magistrates’ court litigation, commercial, debt collection and labour law. Deseray enjoys cooking for her family and friends, gardening, and spending time with family.

Kerisha Soorajdin

Kerisha was born in Pietermaritzburg and is the latest addition to the Viv Greene Team. She has been working in the legal industry from 2014 and is passionate about the work she does. She has experience in High Court and Magistrates Court debt collection and litigation.

Kerisha is married and enjoys cooking and entertaining family and friends. Kerisha believes that if you do anything with love and dedication you will be the best at it

Ongeziwe Jaca

Ongeziwe is a dedicated and passionate Legal Secretary with a strong foundation in litigation and debt collection. Since March 2022, she has been a legal secretary, leveraging her expertise to support legal practitioners and ensure seamless operations in the legal field.

Ongeziwe holds a BA degree in English and Sociology and is currently pursuing her LLB degree through UNISA, with a clear vision of advancing in her legal career. She is driven by both her goals and an inspiring, bold vision of who she strives to become – motivation that fuels her determination and commitment to excellence.

In addition to her legal work, Ongeziwe is also a published author. Her self-help book. Good Girl Gone Bold, reflects her passion for empowering others and embracing personal growth. 

When she’s not in the office or studying, she enjoys reading, particularly career focused books, as well as watching movies that inspire both her professional and personal aspirations. Romance films are a close second, offering her a perfect balance of motivation and relaxation.

Looking ahead, she aspires to become a well-respected Judge, with a career filled with published works and a legacy of impactful contributions to the legal world.
