Description
A Cohabitation Agreement is entered into by unmarried couples who wish to expressly set out any financial or other obligations, along with how these will be dealt with during the subsistence of the relationship and on its dissolution.
This written contract includes:
- how any living expenses will be divided;
- the treatment of property acquired before and after the relationship
- should the relationship end, the treatment of jointly owned property acquired during the relationship
- obligations of good faith
- claims of support upon the death of either party.
